Discovery Tour Day 3 New York
Everybody got more and more excited as we got closer and closer to New York. It was about a five hour drive from Boston to New York, but everbody was sleeping because we stayed up pretty long the night before. Our first stop for the day was Rockefeller Center which was pretty cool. Its right on fifth avenue which is the shopping street of New York. It has all the fancy shops like gucci or Louis Vuitton. We had some free time to walk around fith avenue where I and some other guys from Germany went shopping. Went to Quicksilver, Armani, and Hollister. Everybody bought shirts at Quicksilver, but neither of us bought something either Armani or Hollister ( We didn’t had enough time at Hollister). The next sight we visited was St. Patricks Cathedral which was just across the street from Rockefeller Plaza. Sadly the church was covered with a scaffolding. It was still impressing to have such an old looking church between skyscrapers a lot higher than this big cathedral. We continued our walk to the Grand Central Station which is a Train Station. Its another old building in New York. It right besides huge buildings and it looks funny to have that not tall train station between huge buildings. The inside of the Central Station looks really nice. After this we passed the Public Libary of New York. Our next stop was at a nice sandwich place near Times Square, obviously it was our Dinner at that night. After we had a huge and delicious sandwich we went to the Empire State Building. It a very impressing building and we got to go on the Top of this building. The observatory deck was on the 86th floor. We had to take two elevators to get there. Add the time of how long they each took to get to their top point it probably took us a minute to get to the deck. We had rain the whole day except for the hour we spent up there, we actually had snow up there. It was kinda cool to have snow up there, but sadly the view was influenced by this. I still think we had a great view up there.
